During the last few years, cryptocurrencies thrived and made their way into the mainstream media's attention, which yielded major investments in the technology and grabbed the general audience's attention. Although the technology shows great potential, it is important to understand security implications before being able to confidently dive into it. This talk will lay out the attack surface associated with cryptocurrencies, i.e. how can hackers sabotage the technology? The talk will cover historical, current, and potential attacks against the infrastructure, the protocol, and the users of different cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin and Ethereum.
