Identify - "Develop the organizational understanding to manage cybersecurity risk to systems, assets, data, and capabilities." Central Park East - 6th Floor WORKSHOP
May 08, 2018 10:45 AM - 12:00 Noon(America/New_York)
20180508T1045 20180508T1200 America/New_York Anatomy of a Medical Device Hack

In the near future, a crisis unfolds at a hospital: patients on automated drug infusion machines overdose, hacked insulin pumps lead to car crashes, and internal defibrillators flatline weakened hearts. Clinical staff are unprepared and ill-equipped to treat these complications, as they are all unaware of the true culprits behind the crisis. This scenario played out in first-of-their-kind clinical simulations at the CyberMed Summit in June, 2017, with scary yet unsurprising results: healthcare cybersecurity is in critical condition. This session will share lessons learned from the world’s first ever clinical simulations that challenged the modern healthcare system to deal with demonstrated hacks by leading cybersecurity researchers; and invite participants to engage in candid conversations about the state of healthcare cybersecurity.
